Principal consultant Alaina Schmisseur (BA MA MSc PhD) trained at the University of York and University College London and has spent the last 20 years working with museums and heritage organisations as a conservator, project manager, curator, and technical officer.
Employers and clients include the National Museum Wales, the Smithsonian Institution Museum Conservation Institute, the York Civic Trust, the York Consortium for Conservation and Craftsmanship, the National Park Service of America, the Society for the Protection of Ancient Buildings, the National Museum of Science and Industry group, the York Archaeological Trust, AOC Archaeology, the Church of England, The Rotary Club, and NADFAS as well as numerous private individuals.
Alaina also provides regular on-site objects conservation advice and expertise for archaeological excavations. Her special interests include church monument recording and conservation and teaching conservation principles to volunteer groups. She can normally be found up a scaffold or poking around in the darkest recesses of museum sub basements.
